Garage Door Questions
Tallahassee Garage Door Repair is a free homeowner referral service, not a garage door company. Independent providers perform the work.
Frequently asked questions
Are you a garage door company?
No. This is a free homeowner referral website. Independent providers decide whether to take the work and perform it; we do not employ or dispatch technicians.
How do I request help?
Use the embedded partner form to request free quotes. Our Tallahassee call line is being set up, and its displayed number is not an active way to reach a provider yet. We do not control or promise which questions the partner form will ask.
Is the referral service free for homeowners?
Yes. The referral service is free for homeowners. We may be paid for qualifying referrals. Any proposed work, terms, and warranty come from an independent provider, not this website.
Do you serve every Tallahassee ZIP code?
No address coverage has been verified. Availability depends on your ZIP code and on whether an independent provider can take the work. See the request-area page for nearby places that may submit inquiries.
Do you handle commercial garage doors?
No. This website is for homeowners seeking help with residential garage doors, not commercial or industrial systems.
Can I repair a broken spring or cable myself?
This site does not provide instructions for that work. Springs and associated cables can be under high tension, so leave assessment and repair to a trained technician. See the spring inquiry guide.
Does a replacement door require a permit?
Ask for the rule at your address. The City of Tallahassee says door replacement requires a permit, but its permit pages do not mention garage doors separately. Ask the city and the contractor whether that rule applies to your garage door; an address outside city limits may have a different authority. Ask who will obtain any required permit.
What should I ask about an automatic opener?
Ask the provider whether the door and operator are compatible and how it will assess the required entrapment-protection features. Federal residential operator rules address reversal and protection; this page is not a do-it-yourself test guide. See opener repair and installation.
How do I check a provider's credentials?
Ask the business for its name, applicable license and insurance. Florida provides a public license search; check the details given to you and the proposed scope yourself. We have not checked an individual provider for you.
When will someone answer a phone call?
The call line is not active yet. If and when it is tested, the partner call center's listed hours are Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time. These hours are not a promise that a particular provider is available or that a call will connect.
